My journey to becoming a Nutritional Therapist was born from my personal teenage struggles battling acne, health anxiety and excruciating period pain. From the age of 12, I found myself curled up on the bathroom floor, often vomiting from the intense pain. Conventional pain relief offered me no relief, leading to missed school and work days becoming routine.
I dreaded having my period.
By 18, I noticed a stark difference in my libido compared to friends and I thought sex was the worst thing in the world. I was desperate for someone to be experiencing the same thing as me.
It wasn't until October 2019, when my doctor suggested the possibility of endometriosis, that I felt some clarification. When I asked him if there was anything I could do in my diet or lifestyle… he laughed and said no. I was given the pill and told there was nothing I could do - I was gutted, but I was not surprised.
I decided to go with my gut and figure out my symptoms naturally. I was willing to put in the work and do anything, to achieve a life unbound by my health.
5 years later, I still remember the day I called my bestfriend to tell her it wasn’t in pain anymore.
Through naturopathic medicine, I embrace a holistic approach, nurturing the body's innate healing processes to build optimal health. My focus lies in uncovering the root causes of symptoms and crafting personalised plans based on nutrition and lifestyle adjustments, to promote wellness and vitality.
I now get to do the things my 15 year old self could only have dreamed of - including travelling the world and feeling confident without makeup!
